Sunim Visits Songko Village

In a small village of Songko lives the Talaandig tribe, following its unique tradition and culture.

Back in 2006, Join Together Society built a Hall of Peace and an education center for the Talaandig tribe so it could continue to preserve its distinct culture and pass it down to the next generation.

Over the years, the education center became worn down so JTS had been hard at work fixing and rebuilding parts of the education center. Months of hard work had come to an end, and it was ready for a re-opening.

When Sunim arrived, village people welcomed Sunim in their traditional dress.

Brief opening ceremony took place and Sunim prayed for the continued prosperity of the Talaandig tribe’s culture and strong relationship with other local indigenous tribes.

Sunim and volunteers of JTS were deeply impressed by the Talaandig tribe’s authentic culture and had a wonderful time.

After the day’s events, the village’s vice-chieftain, Datu, along with the rest of the village people bid Sunim farewell with a warm smile and enthusiastic hand waves.
