Sunim Makes A Visit To Mindanao, The Philipines

Sunim visited Maguindanao province on the Mindanao island to attend the inauguration ceremony of Tapukan Primary School. Mindanao is renowned as the Land of Rebel Violence with at least four Muslim rebel groups operating on the island.

Sunim has been doing aid work in the region for over 10 years to alleviate regional tensions and aid those in need.

Sunim attended the opening of Tapukan Primary School. A total of 160 students will attend the school. In attendance were: Vice Chairman of MILF, Ghazali Jaafar, and Mayor of Sultan Kudarat.

In his brief congratulatory address, Sunim asked the children, “Are you happy now that the school is built?”

All the children shouted “Yes!”

Sunim asked again, “Raise your hands if you promise to come to school daily.” Most children enthusiastically raised their arms.

Sunim also reminded the parents to support their children and send them to school every day so their children can grow up to be great leaders of the Muslim community and the Phillippines as a whole.
